Description:The Michigan House Democratic Caucus is seeking a full-time Social Media Coordinator to assist in the planning, development and implementation of social media strategies for the Caucus and its members. She or he should have a strong history of assisting in the creation and execution of effective social media strategies across multiple platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.  She or he should be data driven and familiar with using metrics to grow an audience and increase overall engagement. Strong candidates will have experience managing social media accounts for either government or political officials. This position is based in Lansing and reports to the Digital Media Director. Job Duties include: Assist in the development and implementation of the daily social media strategy for the House Caucus; Work alongside the writing, digital media and photo/video team to create effective, engaging and on-message content; Develop creative branding for the Caucus, including hashtags; Increase social media audience and engagement and drive traffic to caucus websites Identify opportunities to share the caucus’ message with new, wider audiences; Live tweet events, including press conferences and policy rollouts; Serve as a resource and sounding board for representatives looking to increase social media traffic; Compile and report weekly social media analytics and trend data.

 

Salary Range: Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications: Excellent team player and collaborator; Consistently meets established deadlines and uses time effectively while managing multiple, simultaneous projects; Strong writing and design skills; Knowledge of new and emerging social media platforms; A passion for working for progressive causes and elected officials; An ongoing interest in continued learning and adaptation based on best practices.
