Legislative Intern

Office: Rep. Runestad

Caucus: Republican

Description: The office of Representative Jim Runestad of the 44th District is currently looking to fill both research and writing internship positions in a variety of policy areas for the 2016 summer and fall semesters. Interns would gain valuable insights into the legislative process, contribute meaningfully to legislation development and make contacts for future career opportunities. Students will gain valuable hands-on office and legislative experience in a fast-paced environment. Hours are negotiable. Some work may be done on a project basis, or remotely.

Salary Range: This is an unpaid position. Letters of recommendation are available for interns who successfully complete 80 hours of work for the office. College credit may also be possible. (See your school’s Internship Coordinator or Academic Advisor.)

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a student, veteran, or participant in a job entry program. Experience with Microsoft Office Word and other applications, solid writing skills, open-mindedness are preferred.
