Description: The office of State Representative Phil Potvin is currently looking to fill several internship positions for the fall 2011 and spring 2012 semesters. Interns would be expected to provide assistance to the Representative and members of their staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, general office management and miscellaneous tasks. Some responsibilities will include answering phones, monitoring legislation, research and written correspondence to groups and individuals within the 102nd District. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. Hours are negotiable. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Salary Range: This is an unpaid position, but college credit is possible (see your school’s Internship Coordinator).
Minimum Qualifications: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required. Previous office experience and knowledge of the Legislature and legislative process is a plus but not required.
