Legislative Intern

Office: Rep. Knollenburg

Description: Legislative intern will be responsible for monitoring Representative Knollenberg's legislative agenda and communicating with constituents. These responsibilities will include research of legislation, correspondence with groups and individuals, and general office management. Additionally, qualified candidates will have the opportunity to join Representative Knollenberg at public events and luncheons. All interns will have the opportunity to participate in Representative Knollenberg's "Luncheons with Leaders," program. These luncheons are exclusively for Representative Knollenberg's interns and will feature some of Lansing's most prominent legislative, political, and public affairs experts. These informal luncheons will provide a unique opportunity to listen and ask questions of some of the most prominent leaders in Michigan. This is an excellent networking opportunity for those individuals that are preparing to start their career.

Salary Range: This is an unpaid position, but college credit is possible. (See your school’s Internship Coordinator.)

Minimum Qualifications: Most importantly, an ideal candidate has an excellent work ethic, a positive attitude, and an interest in the public policy process. Excellent communication and computer skills (including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications) are required. Hours are negotiable, but 10-20 hours per week is preferred.
