Office: Rep. Chatfield
Description: The office of Representative Lee Chatfield of the 107th District is currently looking to fill internship positions. In general, an intern will be expected to provide assistance to the Representative and members of the Legislative staff, ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, general office management and miscellaneous tasks. Some responsibilities will include but are not limited to: answering phones, monitoring legislation, doing research, writing tributes, general office management, and written correspondence to groups and individuals within the District. Individuals will gain valuable hands-on legislative experience in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule: Applicants must commit to at least two days per week. Hours are negotiable.
Salary Range: This is an unpaid position, but college credit may be possible. (See your school’s Internship Coordinator or Academic Advisor.)
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a student, veteran, or participant in job entry program. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Previous office experience and knowledge of the Legislature and legislative process are a definite plus, but not required. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are required. Applicants should provide a resume, cover letter, and writing samples (preferably in article or editorial form.)
