Legislative Intern

Office: Rep. Rutledge

Description: The office of State Representative David Rutledge (D-Ypsilanti) is seeking a responsible and professional intern to conduct district-based work, including but not limited to: constituent outreach, community meetings, constituent casework and event planning. The 54th House District includes the City of Ypsilanti, as well as Augusta, Salem, Superior, and Ypsilanti Townships. Applicants should exhibit an interest in government as well as the ability to work independently. Previous political/governmental experience is a plus, but not required.

Salary Range: This is an unpaid position, but college credit is available. See your program's internship coordinator for more information on how to obtain college credit.

Minimum Qualifications: Previous community organizing experience and knowledge of the legislative process is preferred, but not required. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated interest in public service preferred. Hours are negotiable.
