Office: Rep. Brinks
Description: IMMEDIATE OPENING - An intern would be expected to provide assistance to Representative Winnie Brinks and members of her staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, general office management and miscellaneous tasks. Some responsibilities will include answering phones, monitoring legislation, research and written correspondence to groups and individuals within the 76th District. Students will gain valuable hands-on office experience in a fast-paced environment as well as gain valuable knowledge from observing committee meetings and the Michigan House of Representatives in session first hand. Hours are negotiable.
Salary Range: This is an unpaid position, but college credit is possible. (See your school’s Internship Coordinator or Academic Advisor.)
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a student, veteran, or participant in job entry program. Strong applicants will have a positive attitude, previous office experience including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, telephone skills, and writing skills. Knowledge of the Legislature is desired but not required. Applicants should have a writing sample and references available upon request.
